Ignacio Gurría Elected President of AERTIC at the General Assembly

In his new leadership role, the business leader states, “We are in a new era in which the digital economy is now a reality. We must be a cross-sector association where all sectors can support one another.”

The Innovative Business Association for the Technology, Digitalization, and Digital Economy Sectors of La Rioja (AEI AERTIC) held a general assembly at which a business leader was elected Ignacio Gurría de la Torre (JIG) as President. Gurría, who takes over from José L. Pancorbo, who had served as president of AERTIC for 11 years, will lead the sector during this new three-year term.

In his opening remarks, the newly elected president emphasized that “AERTIC is a highly participatory association, and it must be supported by a structure that reflects this, with three vice-presidencies that will encompass the three main pillars: the digital society, the digital industry, and digital government. Likewise, it must take the lead in addressing all the challenges that arise, starting with the impact of AI, its regulation, its risks, responsible AI, data, 5G, the cloud… we must be the cross-sector association where all business and economic sectors—regardless of their level of digital maturity—can find support.”. Finally, it highlights “its key role and commitment to research in technology and innovation.”

Gurría He concluded his address to the General Assembly by thanking the outgoing president “"his dedication and the outstanding work he has done during his term", praising the entire staff and coaching staff of AERTIC, expressing his gratitude for their dedication and commitment to all the colleagues who will join him on the new Board of Directors and to “Each and every member who continues to demonstrate, day after day, their high level of professionalism, their expertise, and their commitment to the cluster.”
