The "Olive Decision Tool" Project Has Been Successfully Completed

AERTIC, in partnership with its affiliate SpectralGeo, the University of La Rioja, and Almazara Riojana, has successfully completed the "ODT" project (Olive Decision Tool) funded through the 2021 Call for Proposals for grants aimed at promoting research, development, and innovation (RDI) by the La Rioja Economic Development Agency (ADER).
The goal of the project has been to develop a methodology that enables the generation of new data for the olive-growing and olive oil milling industries, starting from early stages, using predictive models supported by artificial intelligence trained on spectral databases. To this end, a model for predicting yield and quality has been created, as well as a decision-support tool for determining the optimal harvest date based on the olive tree’s maximum production potential, supported by satellite monitoring tools and the creation of transformation models.
